Hello i am littlemonty the current leader of keepers of light, but since i have only been in the guild for a while i think its best to let the person who was in it from the start (not anymore sadly).
This thread is taken from the old guild forums
Let's start at the beginning, late february 2006. A dwarf priest started to play on Eonar, after he left Turalyon and abandoned his lvl 24 undead priest, because of latency problems on Turalyon. This Dwarf priest was given the name: Rabby. In april 2006, around level 10 this priest met a gnome warlock, named Jinhurus. Shortly after a dwarf warrior joined the pack, and Rabby's brother had started to play a dwarf hunter around the same time also. At that point we decided to create a guild together, with Rabby being it's guildmaster. This guild was called "Myth of Azeroth" (with the "x of Azeroth" guildname spam going on at that time, during the ahn'qiraj war efforts). When this group of people reached the average level of 25-30 something changed. The dwarf warrior (named Chav) suddenly stopped playing without giving any notice. Meanwhile we picked up some other people who eventually had become new friends, most famous of those was Soulstorm, a gnome mage. At this point we decided to try out Horde and left Myth of Azeroth behind a bit. When we came back and had decided to dedicate ourselves to the Alliance, we discovered nobody was left in Myth of Azeroth, and thus disbanded it.
Ofcourse this was not the end of the Myth of Azeroth-saga. We reshaped the guild with the same guildcore that had started Myth of Azeroth, under a different guildname: Keepers of Light! On the way we picked up a huge amount of nice players and made new friends, including Grig, Hemota and loads of others.
Keepers of Light grew larger and broke through the 200 member barrier, mainly just containing out of friends and their alts. It was a great guild, but due to it's size it became harder and harder to manage, until at a certain point the guild's high level players (many reached level 60 by then) wanted to see some raiding content in the game. At this moment Keepers of Light was put into a sleep state, but not disbanded. We moved to General Goods, one of the greatest guilds Rabby had ever been in. General Goods was so kind to pickup everyone from Keepers of Light who liked to see some raiding content. And Rabby loved it. The time we're talking about currently is september 2006. Taking down High Priest Venoxis, in Zul'Gurub, as his first raiding achievement. The same evening High Priestess Jeklik and High priestess Mar'li also followed. General Goods had showed Rabby how much fun 40-people raids could be, as he made his first steps into the Molten Core. Sadly, General Goods suffered a lot from the launch of The Burning Crusade. The leveling madness meant death to this great guild, which was the main motivation to give Keepers of Light a second chance.
With the raiding experience Rabby gained in General Goods, Keepers of Light got relaunched and not too long after that Shade of Aran lost his son for good, after we had killed him, starting the Nightbane summoning quest chain for 10 players. This did not last long, despite the fun we had in Karazhan, our first level 70 raid dungeon. A lot of players left because progress was not fast enough for them. This is where Keepers of Light got disbanded for real.
But right now, 6th of november 2007, Keepers of Light is back in place, aiming to be an alround guild for any kind of player that likes to get support, friends, fun and nice groups for dungeons! The main goal at this current moment is that we like to pass on our experiences to other players who like to see more of the game and will hopefully be able to start raiding once again
